So I started blogging with the kids.
Cool eh?!
It is actually quite amazing that we have
reached this point. I thought of
it at the start of the year, but it was a ridiculous thought: almost as silly as painting all their hands black and using them as a stamp.. on the first day of school.. eh.. Sherrill?! It simply would not have worked..
Now however.. they are fine. It is me having the problems.
I have tried to upload pdf files from the
scanner… that doesn’t work. How
can I change them to jpeg files?
Somebody help me! (Thanks Jer!)
And then there are the videos: can’t seem
to get those going either. I spent
all weekend trying to upload the kid’s Happy Song… to no avail. And it is really worth a listen.
It is starting to get hot.. and the kids,
and I, are getting a little cranky.
They call it the build-up.. and you can feel the tension in the
air. I will be ready for that
break in 2 ½ weeks: a week in Cairns.
I have a workshop there: two days.
And then it will be property hunting.. swimming on the Great Barrier Reef, visiting with friends and, well... probably eating.
I need the break! Really need the break!!
But.. even though it doesn’t seem to be getting easier, the kids really have come a long way. They not only know their ABC’s, but also the Naval Phonetic Alphabet as ‘we’ got pretty excited when the Flying Doctors passed through on their race to Darwin.
Cam has figured out what 2+2 really means.. and Bailey can sound out words!

The older kids are reflecting on a variety of topics:
Visitors to the school have included the police mascot, drummers from Alice, kangaroos..
snakes.. Then there are our visits to Bitter Springs and the Watermelon Farm.
Will keep you posted via this blog: Work and Travel. But you may want to
take a peek at what the kids are doing: elfordmatarankaconnections.blogspot.com
It’s invitation only.. as my students are
certainly under age. If you want to visit our classroom.. send me your email.
