It's October!

Well.. it's raining.  I guess that's fair, it IS October and I am on the coast of B.C.  Serves me right.

But my goodness!  Who knew there was so much 'wet' in the sky here!

Doesn't stop the locals though.. they keep doing what they do: Fall Faire this weekend.. Yoga today.. Jackie is back from Nanaimo and working in the shop.  And while mom plays Bridge, I listen to dad over the monitor and watch the gulls taking a bath in the fresh water dumping into the sea from the marsh behind the house.

And, I have been preparing for a 'talk' I have offered to give over at the Legion.

Not sure exactly why I want to give a talk.. but I do.

Vas has been making frames for me so I can stretch some of the Indigenous paintings I have retrieved from Travis.  I have been collecting books, and have even drawn a map of Australia so I can show people exactly where I am talking about.

And to go with it all is a slide show.

Maybe that is why I want to 'talk'.. I want to show off some of the glorious pictures I have.  And, I want other's to be amazed with the world like I am.

I guess a slide presentation is a little like I blog..  I will chatter on, and show a few pics of places: Port Douglas, Cairns, Townsville, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaid, Coober Pedy, Uluru, Docker River, Kings Canyon, Areyonga, Balgo, Alice Springs, Aileron, Mataranka, Katherine, Kununurra, Derby, Wankajunka, Darwin..

I want everyone to see the sun setting on Uluru and the picture of the little Indigenous girl from Balgo with the town camel.  I have to share some of the pics I have of the wild flowers, and the crocodiles jumping on the Adelaide River.  And who wouldn't want to hear the story about the Dingo that played the piano for us at a roadhouse on the Stuart highway, or see the kids at Docker River all grinning for the camera, even if some of them have 'chew' stuffed in the corner of their mouths.  The wallabies at Glen Helen posed so well for their portrait that I made a painting from it and those boab trees near the waterholes around Kununurra are stunning.

I have over 150 pictures to share: each one special, at least to me!

I am quite excited about having found yet another way to share my experiences.. to talk with other's about how special life is.

I like talking about places where it is warm.. where the sun is shining.

Even if it is October.
