Hotelin' It

I like sitting around, drinking beer pool front.
We arrived here at the Swiss Resort and Spa in Lumut yesterday. It is a lovely location, just an hour from ‘home’ in Sabak Bernam. I think we got the ‘special rate’.. not exactly sure, of $250 MR. There is a big pool.. a beach front.. free breakfast. We are going to have beers on the beach this evening and watch the sun go down, as that is a very dramatic event and .. well.. we don’t have a lot else to do.

I like these resorts. There are not a lot of them in our area: contrary to my belief prior to arriving here in Malaysia. The beach here is not exactly ‘clean’. There is a warning sign about box jelly fish.. so we stick to the pool.

I can see Pangkor Island from our rooms window. The tin roofs of the little village of Pangkor that Vas and I visited a few months back, all gleam in the sun. We are on the mainland now.. easier.. cleaner. Although.. I think it is just a big mud flat in front of us so the temptation of the ocean is not nearly so strong as it was in say.. Al Sawati (Oman).
But the camaraderie is the same... Vas, reading the newest Clive Cussler novel in paperback. Tara, talking to Wendy about.. stuff: the world.. cultural differences. Wendy visiting from the UAE, Tara.. relatively new to Malaysia from Korea: a Canadian. There is Kurt, the American with his Portugese wife just visiting. Silka, my newest British lady-friend currently living in Ipoh along with Elizabeth and her lovely Mexican son, Dom.

Ya.. all good. Sitting around drinking beer pool front.. heading to the beach.

Enjoy the day.
