Christmas oh Christmas oh Christmas oh Christmas

First it was Gabe.. in Calgary.  He and Nola are doing really well.. Gabe working in the bush and Nola in downtown Calgary.  Alberta seems to be back in business.. the oil companies doing just fine.  Gabe is talking about getting into 'fracking', a rather controversial method of getting oil out of the ground up here.

They have moved into a new subdivision in Calgary.  Mom figures their address isn't right as there is nothing that far out of town.  But, 'out of town' is not what it used to be. Calgary starts where McLeod meets highway 22.. it is growing!

We spent the week relaxing by the gas fireplace, close to the beautifully decorated Christmas tree.  It was cold outside, but warm in the malls, and at the movie theatre.  Gabe and I went to the Chinook theatre and watched a 3D movie.. in the 'wiggle' seats.  Very cool.

Back to Madeira and Travis and Stephanie showed up from Grand Prairie with my grand daughter, Abby.  We celebrated 'Christmas' with the turkey dinner, the gift game and breakfast with Santa.  Nothing like a child at Christmas and Abby is one beautiful child.  Just 19 months old, and so lively.  There were Christmas trees in all three houses.. mom's made up of spiralling lights.. Jackie and I with our little fake fibre optic job, and Trav and Steph with a $14 Charlie Brown tree from Canadian Tire.  One bulb.. just fine when there is a little one around.

I flew to Cranbrook where Monte's tree was full size and fully decorated.. gifts and all.  His roommate had decorated it.  We had gifts there too.. and fish.  Fish dinner.. fish soup for lunch.. yum.

At Mary's in Kragmont the tree was big and natural.. and staying that way.  It seems the decorations were ruined by a spring flood in the basement.  It looks green and great though.. and smelled like Christmas should.  Mary and Deb fed the horses this morning, I watched from the hot tub, recuperating from last night.. wine, beer, chocolate, chips, cookies...

Yup.. Christmas keeps coming and coming.. and it is only the 22nd of December!
